I first met Megan when she and her mother came into my home studio to
view the senior portraits I had taken of her younger brother, Spencer.
And it just so happened that she and her family actually lived in my
neighborhood, so basically you could say we are almost neighbors! Megan
loved my work and back then she told her mother than she knew I was the
person to photograph her wedding someday. Now to me, that is the
greatest compliment I could get. And it goes to show that I truly love
becoming a family's photographer. So when I got the call that Megan and
her boyfriend had set a date, I was over the moon thrilled!
Fast
forward to this month, and here I am documenting one of the most
special days in her life at an amazing venue. Ethereal Open Air Resort
is owned by the same company that runs the Twin Oaks Garden Estates and
Green Gables Estate, which I was there working in July. Let me tell
you, Ethereal is beautiful!! It is the same property as the California
Botanic Gardens and the venue was filled with gorgeous flowers, lots of
hummingbirds and butterflies, and decor that was rustic and charming.
If you know anyone looking for a wedding venue, please ask them to add
this place to their list. Plus, it's less than a mile off the I-15 at
the most northern point of Escondido.
Here are a few of
my favorite images from that day. It was a pretty warm August day, but
luckily the ceremony was late in the afternoon so temps dropped
considerably for the reception and the couple even had ice cream
available to cool everyone off.
